When it comes to meal delivery diets, there are a bunch to choose from so it can sometimes be hard deciding which one to go with. Fortunately, we have narrowed down our choices to two: Nutrisystem vs. Medifast. These are two of the biggest players in the industry, and we like both as options for weight loss, but for different reasons. In the most basic sense, both options are going to help you lose weight when used correctly. They are actually pretty similar in the results they can produce, the types of food you’re going to be eating, and price.
That being said, there are a few subtle differences that are worth pointing out, so you can make an informed weight loss decision. Let’s take a look at each one a bit closer:
Medifast offers a number of different options to choose from, but their two most popular plans are Medifast Go! and Medifast Flex. With Go! you will be eating under their 5&1 plan. This means five pre-made Medifast meals over the course of the day, and 1 Lean and Green meal. The lean and green meals are going to be healthy foods that you prepare yourself (Medifast does offer pre-made lean and greens, but I think you should make them yourself). This is a nice way to have most of your meals for the day prepared for you ahead time, while also giving you the option of making your own healthy dinner.
Their flex plan follows the 4&2&1 system. This is 4 premade Medifast offerings, 2 lean and green meals, and 1 healthy snack.
Either way, both options are great – it just depends on how much freedom you want with the meals you prepare for yourself.
Under the Nutrisystem diet plan you will be eating 6 pre-made Nutrisystem meals over the course of the day, and then preparing yourself fresh fruits and vegetables. This is a great system as well, and while there isn’t as much cooking involved, it’s perfect for those who hate grocery shopping, have busy schedules, or who like they idea of having almost all of their meals prepared for them.
Nutrisystem also has an offering called “My Way”, which much like the Medifast plans, gives you the opportunity to prepare your own healthy meals. Both are slightly different, so research those more if you think they might be something you’re interested in.
Both Nutrisystem and Medifast are great, but I think Nutrisystem is the more robust option. They pretty much have a plan for anyone in the market for weight loss, and they have years of results to back their system up. In the end, you really can’t go wrong with either, though.
